In this brief podcast, I discuss the results of the podcast poll that I published on my site earlier this week. I mostly wanted an opportunity to try out my new Behringer mixer/preamp, and the results of the poll served as perfect fodder for a podcast. In this 15 minutes of audio, I explain the direction that I plan to take my podcast based on the votes and feedback.
Polls, surveys, and feedback are always a good thing. They help me understand not only what my audience values, but what I value too. Thanks for participating.

I am part of the people who listen to podcasts playing them directly from my computer. Here is my answer to the question you asked: I don’t do anything else while I’m listening to podcasts. I am not a genius and I am unable to work or concentrate on something else at the same time. I simply listen to podcasts during my lunch break!
So you eat lunch while listening? I can see that. I find that I need to be doing something else, not just sitting there. Listening while driving or exercising works best for me.
Not really actually, I don’t eat in front of my PC (luckily for me, I have nice colleagues!). I listen to podcasts after lunch, before getting back to work.
Interesting results to your poll and I liked hearing it in the podcast. You have a good voice for it.
I’d love to catch your webinar but funds are a bit too tight for now. Bummer.
As for interesting trends, we’re doing mainly captivate videos for our online documentation and training for our enterprise applications. They’re also supported by quick guides for topics that work better in that format. The ratio works out to be about 80% vs 20%. It’s the first time I’ve encountered this heavy slant toward video and am enjoying the work very much.
Thanks for sharing your feedback on trends. Videos and quick guides are major trends where I’m at as well. Videos are fun. I find that although most people can write or think they can write, they have no idea how to create a video tutorial.
Re the upcoming webinar, I’ll probably record some more podcasts and other screencasts on this topic on my site, so stay tuned.
Re my voice, I think the mixer/preamp makes a huge difference. I didn’t really realize this until I bought one. It’s somewhat inexpensive too.

I’m of the people who listens to podcasts on the computer while working and no that doesn’t make me a genius
. I’ve always been able to multi task. I think you do that too… you listen to podcasts while grocery shopping that is, in essence two different activities at the same time.
I can’t come up with any explanation for it but, do it never the less. You do have a good voice and I love reading your blog and listening to the podcasts. I work more with DITA and single sourcing so, screencasts and videos fascinate me no end.
