I'm sure that people sneak these devices into concerts to make bootlegs nowadays since tape machines are so last century! Not that we really should!
I was able to get here from a bit.ly link I had saved months ago. Otherwise, I wouldn't have found this.

Hi,

I am looking for a Philips 9FF2M4 digital photo frame but am currently struggling to find one anywhere, or to find anywhere that has a good review. Do you know anywhere you can point me to that will provide one of these please?

Many thanks

Tom,

I wanted to follow up on the discussion on Microsoft Producer and mention that the latest release of Presio now includes a "Microsoft Producer Import Wizard". It allows users to import their Producer projects/presentations directly into Presio.

Here's a short screen cast on how the new feature works.
http://ipresent.net/support/tutorials/import_producer/index.html

Thanks.

It's actually called Presio - it is a brand new product that I just recently released. I think there used to be something called Presario, but I don't think it is around anymore, not too sure.

Anyhow, Presio comes in 2 editions:
Standard $89
Professional $199

The main difference is that Standard only records from audio devices (ie. microphone) and imports audio files (mp3, wma, wav), whereas Professional records and imports both audio and video. Also, Standard exports to Flash format only, whereas Pro exports to Flash, Windows Media, Quicktime, and MP4. Pro vs. Standard feature comparison is here:
http://ipresent.net/Presio/editions.php

Thanks.

I think I've heard of Presario before. I'm a former MS Producer user too, and when they discontinued the product, I was disappointed. But it was a free plugin. How much is Presario?

Tom,

Just came across your blog - it looks great. Nice post on the Zoom H4 recorder and describing your production process. I'm always on the look out for new tools and equipment, so I'll definitely check it out. Also, describing the production process really helps those just getting started with web media.

If you're interested, I just released a new product called Presio, that allows you to record audio or video and synchronize it with PowerPoint slides. You can also import existing media files (mp3, mp4, flv, wav, avi, wmv, mov, etc) and synchronize those media files with PowerPoint slides, images, or screen shots. The result is a rich media presentation that can be published in a variety of formats (Windows Media, Flash, Quicktime, or Video Podcast MP4).

I'm a former Microsoft Producer user, but since Microsoft stopped developing/supporting it, I decided to build Presio. I really tried to make it easy to use, while allowing presenters the ability to capture both the recorded audio/video AND the visuals (usually PPT). Like I said it's a new product and I'd love to get any feedback or suggestions you may have.

Here are some examples of what you can create with Presio: http://ipresent.net/Presio/examples.php

It's also available as a free download, if you'd like to try it out.

Once again, great blog, I'm subscribed.

Regards,

One *might* work. It's a somewhat underpowered machine and the install of Vista slows it down considerably.

I will, of course, show them my rig as well as several other potential rigs during the PowerPoint. Like you suggested recently, I use PowerPoint to "show" things rather than "tell" things (screenshots, photos, low-level animations, etc.) Since this is an introduction to the idea of producing a podcast, I won't get into the deep "how-to" stuff. It'll be more of a high-level overview with links to other support materials if they want to get deeper into it. (I probably should have mentioned that I only have 1:15 total.)

In any case, thanks for the great suggestions. When I have this posted in some format, I'll send along a link.

Oh yeah, Kurt mentioned that I should check out your site.

I thought you had two laptops. If you have one, wouldn't that simply work? You'd be somewhat tethered to your laptop while you give your presentation. But if that's not a problem, it would work just fine.

Tom...you raise a good point.

Second laptop ... hmmmm .... would that come with marriage counseling? Oh. Wait. You mean borrow one somewhere. Yeah, that would work.

Actually I am local and might take you up on your kind offer. I believe we have a common acquaintance in a certain Mr. Hills. He'll vouch for me.

Holly, yes, the presenter would need camtasia on their machine. That's a detail I forgot to include in my description. Thanks. It is possible to listen to the audio afterwards and record the PowerPoint post-preseentation, but it would require someone to sit through an entire presentation twice, which is usually not something many people jump up to do.
