I think 37 Signals stuff is so overrated. They aren't even consistent between apps, despite being every UI designer's darling. I do like Backpackit and Ta-da to a degree though, and use them with some regularity. Sadly, there isn't much competition and even if there was, bloggers and the like are so stuck on odd-numbered Web 2.0 apps that there's no hope in finding them.

What irks me is that Ta-Da doesn't have inline editing like their other apps do. It makes no sense. :(

The triumphant cry? I can see how that might fit. Thanks for clearing it up.

I remember your previous comment about backpackit. I explored it a little, but I didn't really need any other feature but the lists. I may revisit it, though.

You might say this is the grocery list electrified. Why have slips of paper floating around your desk, backpack, house, pockets, and so on when you can have them all in one place? The concept is brilliant. I have gone with ta-da's slighter bigger sibling, however: http://www.backpackit.com/
I think I commented on this on a previous post, but am too lazy to double-check just now. :-) There is a free backpackit, and it just seems a wee bit more advanced.
I think the name ta-da comes from the triumphant cry when you complete your tasks. ;-)
